Day by day

DAY 1 Arrival in Cusco - Transfer to Hotel
  • Reception at Cusco airport and transfer to Inkaterra La Casona hotel.
  • Welcome with coca tea to help with altitude sickness symptoms.
  • Hotel check-in and explanation of places of interest with a city map.
  • Inkaterra La Casona: 16th-century mansion, Cusco's first boutique hotel, built on an Inca military center.
  • Free afternoon to rest and acclimatize (Cusco is located at 3,400 m / 11,155 ft above sea level).

Important Note: It is highly recommended to take a few hours to get used to the altitude before exploring the city.

Optional visit: Qosqo Center of Native Art - presentations of typical Andean music and dances (6:30 PM to 8:00 PM). Entrance included.

DAY 2 Archaeological City Tour in Cusco
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM - Walk through the historic center with local guide (exclusive tour for Inka Rainbow passengers).
  • Afternoon - Archaeological City Tour: visit to Sacsayhuamán, the Qoricancha Temple and other attractions.
  • Free time to explore the city, visit artisan markets and experience local gastronomy.

DAY 3 Sacred Valley of the Incas | Urubamba
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Private tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • Visit to the Taray viewpoint to enjoy the magnificent view of the Sacred Valley.
  • Tour of Pisac and its archaeological site.
  • Discovery of the impressive structure of Ollantaytambo.
  • Transfer to Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba for accommodation.

DAY 4 Train to Aguas Calientes | Ecotourism Excursion
  • Boarding the famous Sacred Valley train (1920s style) with on-board service and typical dance performances.
  • Scenic journey through the Peruvian high jungle to Aguas Calientes.
  • Reception and transfer to Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo.
  • Excursion through the hotel garden: collection of more than 300 species of orchids.
  • Visit to the Tea House and collection of plants for the perfect infusion.

DAY 5 Private Tour in Machu Picchu - Cusco
  • Transfer to the bus to go up to the Machu Picchu citadel (30-minute journey).

  • Time to explore, meditate and feel the spiritual energy of the place.
  • Return to Aguas Calientes and train back to Cusco.

What happens if it rains during the tour?

The tour operates under any weather conditions. In case of rain, we provide rain ponchos and adapt activities as needed. Machu Picchu is especially mystical in the rain.

Can I climb Huayna Picchu mountain?

Yes, but it requires advance reservation (minimum 3-4 months in advance) because spaces are limited. It has an additional cost. Consult us at the time of booking to check availability.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations more than 60 days in advance: 90% refund. Between 30-60 days: 70% refund. Between 15-30 days: 50% refund. Less than 15 days: no refund. We recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers cancellations.
